Acupuncture is an ancient technique that originated in China over 2,000 years ago.  At that time needles were made from stone chips, bone fragments, or slivers of wood, and practitioners learned the effects of various points on the body through acute observation of patients.  Modern acupuncture needles are made from metal and sealed in sterile blister packs, and disposed of at the end of a treatment.  The needles are very fine and are inserted into specific acupuncture points in order to move energy, or “Qi” throughout the body to restore balance.

Acupuncture has proven itself for centuries to be useful for a wide range of disorders including joint or muscle pain, poor digestion, menstrual complaints, anxiety, and smoking cessation.  Treatments are typically 20-40 minutes long  depending on the needs of the body.

Esoteric acupuncture uses traditional acupuncture points but the sequence in which they are needled is based on sacred geometry and designed to access higher planes of consciousness. Esoteric acupuncture can be used to effectively treat mental-emotional imbalances such as stress, depression, anxiety, self-realization, spiritual growth, and to support the balance of the chakras (energy centres) within the body.
